**Description**

**General Summary:**

A pipefitter installs, maintains, and repairs piping systems used for the conveyance of water, steam, gas, chemicals, and other liquids and gases. This position requires practical skills and knowledge of pipe installation techniques, blueprint reading, system layout, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

Install, assemble, modify, and repair piping systems including steel, copper, PVC, and other materials using threaded, grooved, welded, or soldered connections.

+ Performs or assists in the performance of layout, fabrication, installation, and repair of piping systems for compressed air, steam, chilled water, and utility services.
+ Cuts, threads, bends, and fits pipe using hand and power tools, torches, and welding equipment as applicable.
