PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT - TRAUMA SURGERY SERVICE
Rotating schedule with AM and PM shifts
JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Provides emergency surgery/trauma call coverage, including assessment, surgery if needed, consultation, rounding and follow-up of patients.
+ Fosters teamwork and communication among all internal and external constituencies.
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Provides in-house services as scheduled by the Medical Director or designee.
+ Serves as the attending physician for his/her own patients in the SICU and serves as a consultant when requested.
+ Assists the attending and/or consultant physician in the management of patients in the SICU.
+ In emergent situations in the SICU, when the physician is not the attending or consultant, evaluates and stabilizes patients until an attending or consultant physician can be contacted and/or arrives.
