**Description:**

+ Is proficient at 98% of venipunctue attempts. Assures that specimen collected is
+ appropriate to test required (collect tube, amount of blood)
+ Follows protocol for patient identification and specimen labeling at all times.
+ Understands consequence of deviation from protocol.
+ Takes a leadership role in orientation and training of new Associates and students.
+ Demonstrates consistent ability to perform venipunctures on infants and children as well as adults.
+ Performs all collections in timely manner.
+ Demonstrates knowledge of proper utilization of various types of equipment , ie syringe, butterflies, lancets, vacutainers, blood culture equipment.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**

+ High School diploma or equivalent required
