Role & responsibilities

To identify the patient before performing a collection • To screen and collect sample from the patients • To collect the correct amount of sample for the ordered test • To label the collection correctly • To choose the appropriate collection equipment • To transport lab specimens responsibly • To communicate and interact effectively with patients and other medical professionals • To apply laboratory terminology to lab procedures • To understand and practice ethical behaviour • To get training as and when needed • To maintain documentation and records • To make patients comfortable during the procedure and to monitor vital signs • To maintain the integrity of the sample and collect adequate amount • To do Home Visit for collection as an when required • To comply with patient safety policy. • To ensure safe utilization of equipment and proper waste disposal system
