This job is in your area. Enjoy a short commute and work close to home.
Job Description
Context & Job description
You will join the Nuclear Resonance Scattering (ID14) beamline team at ESRF composed of 8 people and study the elastic properties across the spin transition in Ferropericlase-Magnesiowüstite at extreme conditions to link the elasticity of (Mg₁₋ₓFeₓ)O to seismic anomalies in Earth’s lower mantle. The candidate will conduct experiments to determine the phase stability, electronic, magnetic, and elastic properties of the Ferropericlase-Magnesiowüstite system at high-pressure-temperature conditions that will be performed at ID14 and also at other beamlines specializing in experiments under extreme conditions.
