Penobscot County Jail Substance Abuse Counselor CADC or LADC
Job Type(s):Full-Time
Location(s):Bangor, Maine
Licenses/Certifications:CADC or LADC (preferred)
Education:Associates Degree in relevant field
Experience:Three years working with clients who have a substance use disorder
**Job Description**
The PCJ Substance Abuse Counselor conducts substance use assessments and ongoing substance abuse counseling with individuals incarcerated at Penobscot County Jail, in collaboration with Penobscot County Jailβs medical and Medication Assisted Treatment providers.
The PCJ Substance Abuse Counselor works collaboratively with corrections staff and other contracted providers to ensure inmatesβ treatment needs are evaluated and addressed effectively.
Service is provided to adults of all ages who are being screened for or are receiving Medication Assisted Treatment during incarceration.
