NYU London is currently recruiting for a part-time lecturer to teach History of Media & Communication sponsored by Steinhardt's Media, Culture, and Communication Department at New York University. Teaching commences in the Autumn term (Sept-Dec 2026).
Course Description
This course introduces students to key technologies, transitions, and time periods in the history of media and communication, and to the stakes of historical inquiry. The class will explore a wide variety of media formats and innovations throughout human history, with a particular emphasis on the social, economic, cultural and political factors that both shape, and are shaped by, the transformation of media and communication technology over time.
