Job Description

NYU Paris is seeking a part-time lecturer in Architectural History to teach in a Master of Arts program in Historical and Sustainable Architecture.

Teaching takes place in Paris, from January 19th to April 15th; classes meet for approximately 4 hours per week; the instructor will also hold weekly office hours. The course is taught in English.



Adaptive Reuse of Buildings: Successes and Failures II


The overarching goal of this course is to see the ways architects and developers reuse older buildings today for modern purposes. This is the second half of a two-part course, that balances readings against case studies and visits. Two key theoretical issues are explored. The first is the role of memory in the significance of historic buildings. Can public memory withstand radical changes of use?
