Job Description

Summary:


Paramedics perform the functions of a paramedic in re-assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of assigned patients under supervision in an Emergency Department serving patients of all ages, according to established standards and practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists physicians with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.
  • Performs basic nursing procedures, including thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, and application of simple dressings, perennial care, and urine tests.
  • Prepares, hangs, monitors, and discontinues IV fluids.
  • Is knowledgeable and adheres to safe practices when administering medications in all forms.
  • Monitors the emotional stability of patients and reports changes to the physician or charge nurse.
