Summary This position is located in the Maintenance and Repair Unit, Facilities and Engineering Service of the Wilmington VA Medical Center (WVAMC) and reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. The incumbent performs maintenance, repairs, applications and installations associated with the painting trade throughout the medical center. Responsibilities Major Duties The painter performs all duties associated with the application, maintenance, and repair of all types of finishes, including special finishing techniques such as marbling and graining, by using coating materials that are prepared in special and common way and by applying coating techniques that ensure surfaces have a smooth textured and decorative appearance and meet thickness and level requirements.
