Description

The Offsite Endoscopy Specialist assists physicians and RNs with procedures Gastrointestinal procedures.


Responsibilities
  • Performs and records patients vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature and respirations.
  • Documents intake and output and other data as assigned.
  • Sets up equipment and assists physician and RN with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including but not limited to Upper Endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, manometry.
  • Checks equipment function for use during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Cleans, disinfects and/or sterilizes equipment and accessories according to Infection Control guidelines. Documents all processing activities to appropriate logs.
  • Maintains processing machines with scheduled filter changes.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and scope problems. Prepares and arranges for repairs with manufacturer.
