**POSITION PURPOSE**

Directly supervises one or more colleagues; assists manager with managerial responsibilities including scheduling, interviewing, hiring, coaching and counseling, evaluations; has multiple shift responsibilities. The RN Supervisor may also work as a RN who provides and directs safe, effective and culturally competent care for high risk, critically acute patients with actual or potential life-threatening conditions. Through evidence-based practice, the RN utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement and evaluate outcome-based care of patients. Supervises and coordinates care provided to patients by the LPN, Patient Care Assistants and other nursing team members.
