NewsNation is looking for a segment/line producer to work on a daily news program. The Segment Producer is responsible for contributing story ideas, compiling elements, and crafting stories and segments on a variety of topics ranging from domestic to international news. This person also serves as a line producer in the control room as needed. The position is based in the network’s Chicago offices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Pitch stories and segments

• Identify top-tier guests and segments that help NewsNation stand out

• Write, organize, and produce scripts and elements for show and interview segments

• Serve as a backup line producer by helping manage show rundowns, coordinating with control room staff, and overseeing the technical execution of the broadcast as needed, including calmly manage rundown shifts and editorial direction during rolling breaking news coverage
