Role Overview

Mixed Veterinary Surgeon – Permanent, Full‑time – Salary : £40,000–£60,000 (DOE) – Location : Greenside Veterinary Practice, St Boswells, Scottish Borders.

Work‑Life Balance

A 4‑day working week: two days finish at 5:15pm and two days at 7:15pm. No routine weekend consulting. Weekends on‑call are 1 in 8 (7pm Friday to 8:45am Monday) with the Friday after off. Weeknights on‑call are 1 in 7 (Mon‑Thurs 7pm‑8:45am). Flexible rota arrangements are available.

Responsibilities

• Provide small animal clinical and surgical care with a varied caseload.
• Perform farm and large animal work (beef, sheep, dairy, goats, camelids) – no equine.
• Respond to on‑call duties at Greenside, Jedburgh and Hawick.
• Collaborate with veterinary nurses and support staff; use combined on‑call nurse support.
• Develop specialist interests and contribute to an open, collaborative culture.
