Key Responsibilities Legal & Statutory Responsibilities Accept legal appointment as Mine Manager in terms of MHSA Section 3.1. Ensure full compliance with: Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act, Environmental legislation, Labour legislation, DMR regulations and directives. Ensure legal appointments are in place and maintained. Lead DMR inspections, audits, and investigations. Ensure implementation of COPs (Codes of Practice) and SOPs. Safety Management Drive a zero-harm safety culture across the operation. Ensure implementation of safety systems and standards. Monitor: LTIFR, Fatality prevention controls, PTOs, Inspections, Risk assessments, Incident investigations. Ensure all departments comply with safety requirements. Chair safety meetings and management review meetings. Ensure emergency preparedness and mine rescue readiness.
