Job Description

General Summary

Installs new machines or heavy equipment and dismantle and installs machines or heavy equipment when changes in the plant layout are required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning and laying out work

  • Interpreting blueprints or other specifications

  • Using a variety of hand tools and rigging

  • Makes standard shop computations relating to stresses, strength of materials, and centers of gravity,

  • Aligns and balances equipment,

  • Selects standard tools, equipment and parts to be used

  • Installs and maintains good order power transmission equipment such as drives and speed reducers

  • General Housekeeping

  • Other duties as assigned

    • Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

  •  Well rounded training and experience in the trade acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
