1. POSITION PURPOSE (Summary) The Medical Technologist is responsible for working in any section of the laboratory, applying professional knowledge and exercising independent judgement, complying with policies, procedures, and professional standards. Work customarily involves any testing which may require a high degree of theoretical knowledge and technical expertise in licensed area(s); which means serving as supervisor when working alone (nightshift / weekend / holidays) and in the absence of the Laboratory Manager.2. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate of an accredited university with a B.S. degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or
Chemistry preferred. Satisfactory completion of a 12 month or longer internship program approved by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists preferred. Certification as a Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist required.
