Education and Qualifications

College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures.
• Operate X-ray, radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
• Operate radiation therapy equipment.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Position patients.
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals materials to patients or to biological samples.
• Train technicians, assistants, students or interns.
• Assist radiation oncologists and clinical physicists with preparation of radiation treatment plan.
• Assist in the preparation of sealed radioactive materials and the construction of plaster casts and acrylic moulds to assist with administration of radiation treatment.
• Perform diagnostic procedures using radioactive materials on biological specimens.
