Clinical Duties

• To assess, investigate and manage patients presenting to A&E and related services.
• To follow Clinical Practice Guidelines, hospital protocols, and care pathways.
• To perform procedures within competency.
• To refer patients to appropriate consultants when required.
• To ensure proper handover of patients between shifts.
• To elevate and refer patients to the Emergency Physician on duty (if available), particularly for patients in the red zone, unstable conditions, or those not responding to initial management.
• To attend all emergency calls (Code Blue, Rapid Response Team activation, ward emergencies, and acutely-ill patient hospital-wide).
• To assist in inpatient and outpatient clinical care when required.
• To accompany patients during transfer when necessary.
• To manage death cases in accordance with hospital policy.
