Maternity Support Worker

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Maternity Support Worker (MSW) to support women, birthing people, and babies within our Antenatal Clinic and Community teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Work alongside registered practitioners and midwives, carrying out routine care and supportive tasks for mothers and babies.
• Provide housekeeping, administration, and personal care to service users.
• Assist with assessments of health care needs under the direction of a registered midwife.
• Support the multidisciplinary team in delivering a safe, quality, and nurturing environment.
• Advocate for patients in the absence of the midwife and promote individualized care.
• Assist in high acuity situations or when a midwife is unavailable.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience
