Job Description

• To ascertain that all materials incorporated into the work are in accordance with the Standard Specifications of the project and to strictly comply with the conditions of the Minimum Material Testing Requirements.
• To advise the Project Engineer on the acceptance or rejection of construction materials intended for use in the project, based on test results.
• Recommend to the Project Engineer remedial measures for the correction of unsatisfactory condition of materials.
• Take samples and monitor testing of all raw materials at the jobsite material testing laboratory.
• To prepare design mixes for concrete and bitumen mixtures.
• To conduct soil investigations and materials survey of probable sources of materials, and report approximate quantity available, suitability of materials and other pertinent data.
