Job Description
Master Thesis - Synthesis and Characterization of NiAl Layered Double Hydroxides as Precursors for Ni-Based CO₂ Methanation Catalysts
In the field of power-to-gas technologies, the Sabatier reaction is considered a promising approach for converting hydrogen and carbon dioxide into synthetic methane using a catalyst. Nickel supported on alumina is one of the frequently used catalysts. It has been shown that the size and dispersion of the active Ni nanoparticles, as well as their interaction with the support material, are decisive factors for activity. NiAl layered double hydroxides deposited on γ-Al₂O₃ represent promising precursors, as they enable high dispersion of the Ni nanoparticles as well as strong interaction with the support material. To this end, the goal is to elucidate the structure-activity relationship in order to increase the activity and stability of the catalyst. Join us now for this master thesis.
