Summary The position is located in the Mason shop, a department of Carpentry shop, within the Maintenance and Repair Section of Facilities Engineering Service within the Sioux Falls VA Healthcare System (SFVAHCS) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Responsibilities Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Performs bricklaying as required to repair existing, cutting and splitting of bricks and blocks; includes, but not limited to, common and face brick, terra cotta, cement, and cinder block. Creates or replaces expansion joints and edges using forms, edging tools, jointers, and straightedges. Performs construction of steel reinforced support pads for building equipment. Performs general ceramic tile work for wet areas, such as kitchens, bathrooms, operating room scrub areas and labs.
