What is the opportunity?

This position manages a Group Underwriting Team within the Group Underwriting Department. It leads staff responsible for underwriting and risk selection for group business with the mandate of acquiring and maintaining profitable business. The role is accountable for implementing tactics aligning with business objectives, providing leadership and development for group underwriting personnel, day‑to‑day operations, and partnering with sales distribution, claims and other internal departments within the group division. It takes into account revenue generation, unit costing and efficiency, policy and product development, operational and administrative effectiveness, legal issues, regulatory standards, compliance, market conduct, anti‑money laundering and terrorism policy.
