Summary This position is located within the Mechanical Shop, Engineering Service, Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC).The primary function of the maintenance mechanic work leader is to distribute work to the various trades either through electronic work order or instructions received from the immediate supervisor. Responsibilities Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Work leaders (WL) distribute work to a diversified group of nonsupervisory employees in accomplishing an extremely wide variety of functions assigned to the shop. On a daily basis, these include the overhaul, maintenance, repair, modification, testing, evaluating, safety inspection, adjusting, rebuilding, preventative maintenance, installation, analyzing and troubleshooting of the following: Steam systems: (Heating, medium and high pressure).
