About the job Mainframe Storage/Tape Engineer - Remote

Our client, the global IT services company is hiring for the Sr. Mainframe Storage/Tape Engineer position. This is a permanent, full-time, 100% remote position.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily Storage management activities relating to SMS routines, DASD pools monitoring housekeeping batch jobs and on-call support
• Troubleshoot basic space issues, perform migrate and archive functions
• Implement routine storage-type changes relating to client requests to add or move volumes
• Troubleshoot JCL errors and resolve them
• Create and maintain core system backups
• Login and monitor IBM TS7700 grids
• Understand the incident, change, and problem processes and execute the processes
• Implement new storage solutions
• Perform and Lead DR drills and provide direction to other drill team members
• Create and manage SMS spools
