About the job Mainframe Storage/Tape Engineer - Remote

Our client, the global IT services company is hiring for the Sr. Mainframe Storage/Tape Engineer position. This is a permanent, full-time, 100% remote position. Responsibilities:

Perform daily Storage management activities relating to SMS routines, DASD pools monitoring housekeeping batch jobs and on-call support Troubleshoot basic space issues, perform migrate and archive functions Implement routine storage-type changes relating to client requests to add or move volumes Troubleshoot JCL errors and resolve them Create and maintain core system backups Login and monitor IBM TS7700 grids Understand the incident, change, and problem processes and execute the processes Implement new storage solutions Perform and Lead DR drills and provide direction to other drill team members Create and manage SMS spools Configure Tape and DASD hardware devices from the device level Peer reviews all storage changes that the team execut...
