The Machine Shop EDM machinist is responsible to execute precision machining using EDM Wire Cut, Super Drill, and Die Sinker to fabricate and modify parts, tools, and dies per engineering drawings and quality standards

Set up, program (where applicable), and operate EDM Wire Cut, EDM Super Drill, and EDM Die Sinker per job travelers and technical specs.

Interpret engineering drawings/3D models; select electrodes/fixtures; define optimal cutting strategies (offsets, flushing, burn parameters).

Verify part conformance using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauge, gauge blocks, profile projector/vision system); document results.

Perform first‑article verification and adhere to in‑process inspection checkpoints and control plans.

Optimize cycle time, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy; recommend parameter/tooling improvements.
