The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a regulated member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team who utilizes the nursing process, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills in the delivery of consistent quality care to meet the needs of the client through the life span. The LPN’s practice encompasses the application of nursing knowledge, skills and judgment to assess client needs and provides nursing care that is reflective of their level of education and knowledge. The LPN embraces the philosophy of person-centered care, demonstrating the principles of the philosophy established within AHS policies and procedures and established standards.
