Job Title

Under supervision, performs nursing work. Responsible for assisting providers and delivering nursing care in a primary care center under the auspices of the Family Health Centers (FHC).

Examples of Duties

Documents patient history and assesses chief complaints. Reviews charts and makes entries. Prepares patient and room for appropriate examination procedures. Assists providers with exams and procedures. Administers medications, injections, immunizations, and venipunctures as ordered by physician. Handles all abnormal and normal laboratory test results according to protocol. Provides individual and group health education instruction and information. Mentors and acts as a resource for health services students and departmental personnel. Provides appropriate patient care based on age-appropriate growth and development principles.
