Job Description
- Dispense medication, interpret prescription orders, and provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage
- Recommend OTC medication options to help mitigate individual symptoms to patients
- Maintain records such as pharmacy files, prescriptions, patient profiles, charge system files, and inventories
- Collaborate with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, review, or evaluate the quality or effectiveness of drugs or drug regimens, providing advice on drug applications or characteristics
- Responsible for ordering and purchasing of pharmaceutical supplies and drugs
- Maintenance of stocks, storing, and proper handling
- Compliance with drug laws as regulated by the Board of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Agency, and by the Food and Drug Administration
