Job Description

The Legal Counsel is responsible for:

  • First in-house legal hire for the organization, developing the strategy for the legal and compliance function, growing the team and providing legal counsel to the c-suite, senior leadership team and asset management division.
  • Provide legal guidance on CMBS transactions and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations within the banking and financial services sector.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to manage legal risks and resolve disputes.
  • Monitor and implement changes in laws and regulations affecting the property industry.
  • Advise on risk management strategies to protect the organization's interests.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance and legal matters.
