Summary The Lead Firefighter is responsible for directing and assigning day-to-day activities, for lower graded Fire Department personnel in all fire protection services (including fire/safety building inspections, inspections of first aid and firefighting equipment, maintenance of the fire station, firefighting quarters, apparatus, equipment and appliances), and performs firefighting tasks. Responsibilities Major duties include, but not limited to: Attends and conducts training for personnel as directed by the Fire Chief in all phases of firefighting and protection within the structural series. Serves as the on-scene commander of a fire/ crash scene until relieved by the Fire Chief or Deputy Fire Chief.
