MCS Group is working with a new entrant to NI as they seek to hire a Principal Software Engineer. A fully remote role within Northern Ireland, this is a brilliant opportunity for a Principal or Lead Software Engineer who is fully embracing modern tooling and AI to move fast, reduce overheads, and turn ideas into working systems quickly. You'll be the first hire for the business in Northern Ireland also.

What you’ll do

• The Principal Software Engineer will build and ship real systems end to end, from early idea to production


• Modernise existing platforms without defaulting to big rewrites


• Move services toward cloud-native ways of working where it makes sense


• Deliver fast PoCs to prove value, then scale what works


• Make smart, pragmatic engineering decisions that keep momentum high


• Use AI to accelerate delivery without compromising quality
