Lab Support Services Technician β Specimen Processing
Responsible for the receipt, accessioning, processing, and distribution of laboratory specimens for all patient populations. Ensures specimens are accurately identified, labeled, prepared, and routed according to test requirements and laboratory protocols. Utilizes laboratory systems to monitor incoming specimens, prioritize workflow, and track pending or delayed samples. Applies critical thinking and problem-solving skills when identifying specimen discrepancies, integrity issues, or special handling requirements.
Interacts with phlebotomy staff, nursing staff, providers, couriers, reference laboratories, and other hospital personnel to resolve specimen-related issue...
