A) Position Objective

The position is responsible for providing support and assistance to the Underwriter. The Underwriting Assistant assists underwriters in evaluating and assessing the risks associated with insurance applications, helping to make informed decisions. Conducts policy audits to ensure that all issued policies follow the underwriting guidelines.

B) Roles and Responsibilities

1. Provide immediate assistance to the Underwriter through the initial assessment of risk, CAT exposure, accumulation, and preparation of quotations/proposals.
2. Conduct initial reviews of new and renewal policies to help the Underwriter decide whether there will be adjustments to the premium or if still eligible for renewal.
3. Generate and prepare reports and other statistical reports.
