Principal Accountabilities:

1. Assist in performing routine maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems, including filters, belts, motors and coils.
2. Support installation of new HVAC equipment and ductwork following specifications and building codes.
3. Conduct basic inspections and report unusual conditions or system malfunctions to shop supervisor.
4. Help troubleshoot HVAC equipment with guidance, including thermostats, air handlers, and split systems.
5. Maintain daily logs, documentation, and service records for work performed.
6. Assist in responding to routine temperature complaints and requested from building occupants.
7. Monitor HVAC systems and report alarms or irregularities to shop supervisor.
8. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings and job specifications for HVAC work.
9. Collaborate with Facilities Engineering's other trades (plumbing, electrical, etc.) to support integrated projects.
