Graduate Practical Nurse (GPN)

Position Summary
A Graduate Practical Nurse (GPN) is a recent nursing program graduate who is awaiting licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in New York State. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the GPN provides basic nursing care and supports patient treatment plans in healthcare settings

Key Responsibilities
+ Provide basic patient care, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance
+ Measure and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure)
+ Assist with wound care and simple medical procedures
+ Administer medications only as permitted under supervision and state guidelines
+ Monitor patient conditions and report changes to supervising RN
+ Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
+ Support infection control and safety protocols
+ Assist patients with daily living activities (ADLs)
