GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, and general HVAC work.



MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION


+ Test and replace electrical receptacles, switches, and fixtures

+ Patch and paint minor holes and cracks/crevices in walls and ceilings

+ Repair/replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets

+ Repair/replace doors, ADA panic bars, and hardware

+ Repair/replace floors, steps and sidewalks

+ Grounds work such as snow and leaf removal

+ Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery

+ Assist with parts, material storage, and inventory
