As the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades and support operatives. Hays is seeking to recruit a General Building Operative for HMP Holme House. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the prison service and can often lead to permanent opportunities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to the prison maintenance team across a range of tasks, including reactive repairs and damage restoration.
  • Carry out basic joinery work as required.
  • Perform minor plumbing tasks, such as unblocking toilets.
  • Undertake simple electrical duties, including replacing light bulbs.
  • Conduct routine fire alarm testing to ensurepliance and safety.
  • Assist with waste management and disposal activities.
  • Support ground maintenance tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
