Job Description
Summary You will serve as a GAS DETECTION MONITOR LEADER in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT (Code 900) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. Responsibilities You will perform Drop tests with a Multi-Gas Monitor for an oxygen deficiency atmosphere and test for the presence of specific toxics dependent upon the nature of the space and its contents. You will determine if it is safe to enter spaces being tested. You will inspect spaces for the presence of flammable, combustible, toxic residues, blisters, or scale which may trap hazardous substances, rags, rope, wood, or other materials which may become dangerous upon application of heat. You will affix a confined space certificate tag indicating whether the space is safe or unsafe for personnel entry and applicant of hot work in or on the outer limits of the space.
