Officially approved to open on September 30th 2013 by China’s Ministry of Education, ShanghaiTech University is a small-scale research university jointly established by Shanghai Municipal Government and Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), which located at Zhang-Jiang High-Tech Park in Shanghai, China. ShanghaiTech focuses on science and engineering with expected enrollment of 4,000 graduate and 2,000 undergraduate students.

The School of Physical Science and Technology (SPST) at ShanghaiTech University aims to create an environment that embodies the future of academic research and talent cultivation.
