Job Overview
SUE (Subsurface Utility Engineering) Technicians have experience in a construction-related field position. As a SUE Technician, you will work individually and in a team environment to designate/locate utilities and collect field data in accordance with SUE practices and ASCE 38‑22 standards. You will use electromagnetic (EM) cable and pipe locate sets, collect and document data, troubleshoot issues, and communicate with client representatives and the project team leader.
Responsibilities
- Read, understand, interpret, and correlate utility records including plans, as‑built drawings, and other records to determine the presence and existence of underground and/or aerial utilities.
- Understand SUE Standards, ASCE 38‑22 “Standard Guideline for Investigating and Documenting Existing Utilities” and the associated SUE Quality Levels D, C, B, and A.
