Job Description
The Epidemiologist is responsible for investigating patterns and causes of disease and injury. Typically, the Epidemiologist works in an office and/or laboratory setting within state/local government health departments, hospitals and/or universities. The epidemiologist is responsible for design, implementation, and analysis of epidemiological investigations or studies and participating in general data management and report writing for epidemiological investigations or studies.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, biostatistics, or a related field is generally preferred (a masterβs degree may be required per contract)
+ Two (2) yearsβ experience in their field within the last four (4) years preferred
+ Certification/Licensure may be required per state/contract
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
