Responsibilities

After receiving market-level plans, customer capacity requirements, and internal transport requirements, the transport engineer is responsible for the timely creation of individual Capacity Creation Requests (CCRs) to initiate US domestic network transport builds across both ULH and OTN Mesh networks to support strategic LD site decommissioning efforts.

• Engineer and manage the removal of obsolete equipment from the ULH network.
• Applicant must have detailed knowledge of SONET and Long-Distance ULH transport systems.
• Applicant must have a good understanding of the transport network to effectively engineer and initiate network projects under the Zero-Fill program and Decom program.
• Applicant needs to have an understanding of dependencies such as space, power, fiber, and diversity and how they will affect their planned projects.
