Job Description

Overview Department 341 Welding & NDT Engineering - Suppliers and Strategic Sourcing is looking for an additional team member for the supplier development welding engineering group. The group supports Electric Boat suppliers and internal engineering organizations with respect to the welding and fabrication of the components used in the construction of nuclear submarines. Basic job responsibilities include:

• Review and approval of supplier welding procedures
• Review and approval of weld repairs performed by suppliers
• Providing technical guidance and expertise with respect to construction support, problem resolution and corrective actions for welding performed by suppliers
• Providing support to suppliers qualifying new welding procedures
• Evaluating the capabilities and capacity of prospective suppliers
