Detailed Overview

Commensurate with their level of education, training and in accordance with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia (CPBC) standards of practice and Pharmacy departmental policies, procedures and competency guidelines, the Employed Student Pharmacist provides drug distribution, basic drug information, medication reconciliation, medication dosage adjustments and assists Clinical Pharmacists with direct patient care activities including preparation for multidisciplinary rounds, educational seminars, drug therapy reviews and patient drug therapy counseling. Responsibilities Dispenses medications in compliance with applicable legislation and regulations, ensures appropriate medication therapy based on readily available information, validates prescriptions using primary drug information texts and withholds medication until safety concerns are resolved.
