**Job Description:**
Scope: The ED Vascular Access Technician functions as part of a dynamic and collaborative Emergency Department team. This caregiver is an experienced professional with advanced phlebotomy and vascular access skills who serves as a resource to clinicians, nursing teams, and patients within the ED. This role is designed to support a need for rapid laboratory specimen collection, reliable and complex vascular access, and seamless diagnostic workflowsโespecially for critically ill or time sensitive patients. This position spends a significant portion of time performing hands on clinical work allowed by regulatory agencies, including complex specimen collection, assisting with ED diagnostic priorities, and coordinating laboratory processes that impact throughput, door to diagnostic metrics, and patient safety.
