Job Description

The doctoral researcher will join a multidisciplinary research group at Tampere University focusing on autonomous mobile robots for extreme environments. The project involves developing small autonomous ground vehicles capable of reliable, long‑term autonomous operation in challenging terrain and harsh weather conditions such as Finnish winter forests. The role is supervised by principal investigators from the Signal Processing Research Center and the Department of Automation Technology and Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop predictive terrain‑adaptive robot balance and traversability control.
• Develop robot vision and perception systems.
• Develop robot listening and perception capabilities.
