Trade Assist is looking for approximately 10 Digger/Machine Operators for a variety of projects around the Gisborne region and is offering competitive rates for the right people with experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating excavators and civil machinery across earthworks, trenching, drainage, roading, and site preparation projects
• Completing pre‑start checks, maintenance, cleaning, refuelling, and minor plant adjustments
• Using attachments including buckets, breakers, compactors, augers, and blades
• Reading plans, site markers, and following verbal and written instructions
• Excavating, levelling, loading trucks, backfilling, compacting, and moving materials around site
• Working safely around underground services, traffic, machinery, and ground crews while following health & safety procedures
• Monitoring machine performance and reporting faults, hazards, incidents, or maintenance requirements
